Honor Flight Chicago has launched a program to recognize our fallen heroes by including Gold Star family members aboard our flights. Up to two Gold Star family members may travel in memory of their fallen loved one from the war eras we serve, participating in the entire Honor Flight experience completely free of charge.

The Gold Star Family Member experience includes:

  • Loved one’s photo traveling in a place of honor in our Flag Box
  • Inclusion in all aspects of the Honor Flight Chicago flight day experience
  • Honor Flight Chicago Gold Star family polo to wear during the flight
  • Other Honor Flight Chicago keepsakes from the day
  • Travel in a Guardian seat, ensuring no Veteran seat is taken in favor of family members

All costs associated with this program have been covered by a generous donor. Please note, a state-issued REAL ID or valid passport is also required for domestic air travel and participation in an Honor Flight Chicago mission.
